feeler. whats it worth?

Post by volvosneverdie »

Whats mine worth people?
May have to sell it and go 1.7 to make engine swap possible.
Dont want to, may may be the only way to make it work financially.

What say yous?

NOOOOOOOO, keep it, mine was a 1.4 so it's doable, just means collecting the parts.

Think of the time and effort you've put into your car, so a quick motor in that will be quality :D

All true.
But im almost out of money, it transpires.
The hunt for 1.7 conversion parts could take a while. they seem to have dried up.
And as im only gonna be able to run one car all year round, im gonna need to keep the heater.
So the loom, conv parts, flipped mainifold, pump and etc etc is gonna be a fair chunk of wedge.
think id be better buying a 1.7, selling the 1.4 and converting the 1.7.

well, thats the quandry im wrangling with at the moment anyway.

I'm keeping the heater, and can't convert the manifold with blue book regs. It's not super difficult mate. Plus you have pm anyway

So is it possible to KEEP the heater with an F7P, and NOT swap the manifold?

I believe Andy has achieved this, but i stand to be corrected. The heater is the big black box at the rear of the engine bay right?

The heater itself is the matrix thats in the bulkhead. It's just the motor in the big black box. I'm just putting an inline motor in, and making ducting to the matrix. The blower won't be anywhere near as good as a stock 300 one, and I havn't even measured it to see how much room there is yet, but from the pictures that have been posted there is some room. I'm only doing it for mine as I have no choice with the rule book, for a normal car I'd get the manifold swapped I think.
