And now there are two!

Post by AUTOMAN »

Hi all, just wanted to share with you all that my GLT arrived yesterday afternoon and even though it needs a load of work, I love it. I would like to post up the pics of it sat proudly next to my GL, but don't know how to re-size them so that I can post them here. Please could somebody give me an idiots guide? so I can get them up, as I am so happy and both cars next to each other look great.

Hi Ian, you sould like one happy new owner dude. 8)

Simplest way is as follows...............

Open a Photobucket account (if you havnt already)
Upload your pics there.
Copy The BOTTOM photobucket image code from each upladed pic (that appear when you hover the cursor over the pic) Direct into the open thread.

Making sense?

I am definately a happy man and have decided to use the GL to get the glt on the road, then find new parts for the gl, as that will require a lot more welding than the glt. I can then use the glt for the winter, find the parts I want for the gl and do a proper job on that, as the glt will then have an extensive restoration and get a re-spray in the colour blue that is on my avatar. It is then my intention to use the gl as my every-day car and slowly but surely turn that into a glt look-a-like for everyday use. The GLT will be for me, no kids, no wife, just a lovely blonde lady to drive me about on weekends, Damn, its time to wake up now, Lol

Regarding the photo-bucket thing, I know that you mean well, but if I learn how to re-size my pics, then people won't have to click back and fore.

(Back to my dreams of me, my car and my blonde). zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz.

That's a good plan. 3 dr GLTs are as rare as anything - if there's a MkIII likely to be a future classic, that will be it!

Honestly don't worry about resizing yourself. The free Photobucket account resizes your pictures anyway while you're uploading them. If you paste the link into your post, the forum resizes the pic slightly smaller again, and if people want to see "the full quality" then they just have to click on the pic.

Well, there is quite a bit of work to get it through an MOT, but I will start on that as soon as I get out of hospital after the opperation, I will take it easy and slowly at first, but as I get stronger, I will build up the speed because I want to be in it. If I could I would work from now to when I go into hospital to get it on the road, but "slowly slowly catchy monkey".

Thanks for doing the pictures for me.

Slow and steady wins the race..................
Think youve convinced me to get a boot spoiler too, putting the two rear ends together like that really shows how the 'spoiled' one looks much improved.

Thats good sir, you know where to get one from, as I told you previously. Has anybody got any tips on how to make a tired spoiler look a lot better. I don't want to use rubber paint if I can help it, as that tends to peel quickely and no matter how carefull you are, it allways has brush-strokes on it. :360:

I've been told that Auto-Glym make a 'bumper restorer' product, that can be rubbed in with a cloth, and brings the spoilers up a treat.

Thanks for that, I will check it out tommorrow. You would think that being an ex-used car dealer, I should have known that.
