engine swap 1.4 to f7p

Post by hamloin »

hi im a newbe member. iv a few questions about an engine swap on a 1.4 340. basically im a renault enthuast normally and just got a complete rotter of a 340 as a rear drive project. i already have a 1.8 16v f7p engine with a ecu and throttle bodies ready to go and want to know what i need to fit it to the volv. ie engine mounts, box and clutch options. the 1.4 is a reno engine so i guess the bell housing will fit. but which clutch and fly wheel do i use? any information would be greatly appreciated thanks

the 1.4 engine in the volvo is similiar i believe to the C1j engines as in the renault 5s ( i think c1j is the engine code)

where as the 1.7 code: b172 is the same as the f series of engines. so you need the 1.7 parts, because the 1.4 parts are smaller.
