is there any way to re-build them? new seals maybe? otherwise it's a hundred quid down the drain
Shed Clearout Time
Re: Shed Clearout Time
Just stripped the assembled strut in a break from uni, shock is fully dead, air in it, no adjustment or damping and it slaps badly if you move the shaft in and out...

Don't know what to say about that.Sorry,i should've stripped them both down completely before advertising them.I feel like a right nobber.
I took it that they were ok as the last 360 they were on they were fine.I'm not sure if you can strip them down but i will try and find out for you.If they can't then we'll have to try and come to some sort of refund aggreement.Sorry again mate and i'll get back to you asap.

Re: Shed Clearout Time
I'm pretty sure you cant DIY rebuild but Koni used to offer a rebuild service. Don't know how much they charge or even if they still do it. Best bet is give them call.

Cheers Mr Swede.I will give them a call first thing and find out for certain as it would be a shame to bin it.Not only that but i think its fair to say that i should pay something towards the rebuild if they do still do it.

Re: Shed Clearout Time
no worries man, i bought as seen at the end of the day, and you have to take risks when you buy second hand.
hopefully koni will be able to re-build, if not, then anyone want to buy one koni adjustable?

That sounds familiarSliderman wrote:if not, then anyone want to buy one koni adjustable?
IIRC, Koni offer a lifetime guarantee on their shocks. I'm sure there are all kinds of loopholes in that though, you have to buy new from them and still have the receipt etc etc. ...

Re: Shed Clearout Time
thanks tom, one-sided lowering is all the rage these days apparently! it'd be great if i was a bit heavier, i could just do the LHS and it'd look ok when i drove it.trabitom99 wrote:That sounds familiarSliderman wrote:if not, then anyone want to buy one koni adjustable?Between us, we could get one complete LH or RH side "Koni'd".

i'm going to do a bit of diggin with koni and find out about re-builds now.
*edit:
Right, first guy i got though to directly is from S.P suspension in spalding (07811 108123 if anyone is interested), he wants me to post the dampers through to him, and he will see what he can do (can't garentee that he can get parts, etc) with a quote of 35 quid per shock with parts on top and postage.
waiting for a call back from a few others, so will wait on that before i send them to S.P.
