cutting out on roundabouts
cutting out on roundabouts
if i'm pushing it a bit round a roundabout my 340 is cutting out,
guessing it is due to the engine getting no fuel, but is this on the carb front or the tank, as i have put £20 quid of fuel in and it still does it.

Re: cutting out on roundabouts
1.7? Most probably carb float heights m8. For the love of god please check that the fuel return hose is still attached!!! Or your fuel will be leaking all over hot exhaust manifold Float heights should be 33mm but also weigh your floats to check they aren't leaking - they should be 6g
Re: cutting out on roundabouts
ok cheers mate, will have a search on google about float hights etc as i have err, no clue about carbs. lol
Re: cutting out on roundabouts
All my carb cars have done this, usually a symptom of fitting good tyres + good suspension. You want injection.

Re: cutting out on roundabouts
Not if you get the float heights sorted! My 1.7 coped on slicks on runways fine, but only if I'd sorted the carb out (and in the end the bloody thing started to wander, so it was a 6monthly job )Ride_on wrote:All my carb cars have done this, usually a symptom of fitting good tyres + good suspension. Carbs are always a compromise - injection is smart.
Re: cutting out on roundabouts
any one got a guide to adjusting the floats on the standard 1.7 carb? the only carb i have ever touched is on my old mini moto, and that doesnt run anymore. lol
Re: cutting out on roundabouts
mine almost does the same... go into a corner ready to attempt a tail out exit and it just almost stops, bogs rite down makin the car almost stop....
