That sounds about right, mine is a 360 GLT and I do 4 short trips a day from cold, would be nice to get more MPG.

Says the man mapping his car without a wideband

Works out at about 20mpg... what kinda journeys are you doing? Makes sense if its only town work.

Lol, I'm not mapping, all I've done is put a stock manufacturers map on my car from the non standard one I couldn't monitor :P

You've got to admit though, seeing the fueling 'table' for LE would be hugely interesting.

Getting about 11l / 100km = 26 MPG on mine, mostly city traffic. I was a bit surprised that it didn't go under 9l = 31 MPG on a longer highway/motorway trip though. But it's running a bit badly at the moment, and haven't had the time to find out why. Also my right foot seems to be really heavy.

I would expect to get about 25mpg on a 360 running LE-jet, driving in town and on some runs, with starts from cold. LE-Jet is absolutely horrible from cold. Its a design flaw. it runs mega too rich and its because of the way they calculated the fuelling and probably limitations of the technology in those days. (LE-Jet is an old analog EFI system, which generates pulse widths based on resistors capacitors and transistors, rather than any sort of digital software)

Once you get them properly warmed up (I'm presuming that the thermostat in your top water hose is good and the temperature gauge sits pretty much straight upright in the middle after about 10-15 mins running) they are fairly good on fuel, but IMO its the warm up period and particularly cold starts where they really lose out.

I was en route to a secret spot, as you do, and I was held up by our local councils gritter, so I dropped a cog, let her have it, and before I knew it, myself and my butty were looking out my window overtaking the gritter going uphill!

Later that night we went over the mountain road that I was brought up on. Went up the hill, every angle, got onto the top and had a tiny lapse in concentration where my butty mentioned how well it turned in on the snow, flick of the bar and a large lung full of phowazz from the B14 and we were safely pointing in the opposite direction. My words were and I shit you not ''Oh F we're going off here'' he replied with a scream of laughter ''Oh my god this car is the untimate in snow drifting technology'' I didn't even try!

I do like how this thread went from how much do you get to whats the scores on the board miss ford with the snow and stuff...
