Would it be cheeky to phone RAC when I get there and get them to tow me home? Seriously, I'd so have this if it wasn't freakin miles away. But even then I'd be stripping it to the shell and scrapping that. Seems like a waste.

It'd have to be taxed, and youd have to be insured on it to uttilise the RAC/AA retro car collection service dude.

Yeah that's all well and good except this thing doesn't drive! Boo. And I'd need my car to tow it.

I think That Gentleman may mean that the AA/RAC will pick you up and carry you under those circumstances?
Of course hypothetically.

Conversation (read: shouting match) with mum says that somehow taking the innards out of a non-working car is different from taking out the innards of my own car (to repair it) because that's for "backstreet garages". Whatever, I don't pay the mortgage. Just when I was dead set on the idea. Anyone fancy lending me garage space, engine crane and a helping hand with a rather quick engine change? You get free scrap metal and other parts plus £20 a day  Bah, bang goes another car based dream. Dad's all for the idea of course
