Surely no need for Porsche brakes, given the slowness and the awesomeness of standard 240 brakes?
You also forgot the bit about spending 6 months de-rusting it
EDIT: Suck it, tttttthhhhhhhhhhhhpainter. Guess who Facebook said I should "reconnect" with...again?
cheers

Slow? What? Who told you that? 242's are sports cars! 245's are sports cars with long roofs.
And there is a need for Porsche brakes. It saves him the effort of repainting them to match the body.

Hehe, true.
2.5 24v ain't gonna be "quick", though. As long as Adam isn't planning to go racing, the standard brakes should be fine. They are totally kick-ass for factory brakes of that age.
cheers

Who said the 242 is getting the 2.5? Thats just the doner car!!

242 is getting B6304 with some cams and mild NA tuning.
Porsche brakes are so when i decide to go mad with it, which i will, it will be capable.

Still a bit slow

The original cams (assuming you get a 204bhp version) are fairly hot to start with. Internet rumour has it that freeing up the exhaust side (incl manfolds) is good for a lot of power...and the construction of the inlet manifold makes it rude not to fit bike carbs.

Of course for a daily driver / tow car, you might have to put up with rudeness for practicalities sake, and save up for a T6 swap
cheers

Hmm... even if the power remained stock 204bhp in say 1250kg... hardly slow!

Joking: All things are relative
Vaguely serious: The standard 302mm brakes do a pretty decent job of stopping 250bhp / 1500kg of V70R being driven hard on-road (racing is different), and I reckon on balance the 240 brakes are a match for them.
cheers
