I am glad to see a restauration so weel documented. Had to do the same to my 1979 343 but didn't take that many pics.icsi wrote:Yes, exactly...volvodspec wrote:well for such a quality restauration it seems allmost like a shame not to refurb the original engine.

I have a donor car (360GLT 1985), and this engine is in percfect condition, the milage is just over 110k.
The B19A engine needs a renovation, in process... many parts, money and time.
I am sure the engine will follow in the future....volvomania wrote:I am glad to see a restauration so weel documented. Also loved the way you managed to produce a lot of your own panelbits.
I am sure the engine will follow in the future....it would be hard to believe that such a lot of work to make it as good as new would end with a different powertrain.
Ooooh, will people hate me if I go putting a 2.3 turbo in it then?volvosneverdie wrote:Good buy man. Saloons are getting quite rare.

I'll definately be keeping it looking stock though - I prefer the 'Q ship' approach
... and GLT saloons are even more rare ... Great buy!volvosneverdie wrote:Good buy man. Saloons are getting quite rare.
Sounds like just a few niggly bit and jobs, and itll be a lovely car.
Welcome to the forum and keep the updates coming if you start working on it mate!
I think thats the problem because there is an attempt at movement sometimes!SteveP wrote:Electric motors tend to sieze, usually can be freed off if you take them out of their mechanisms and run them on a battery while soaking them in WD40.
