I have owned three 340 1.7's over six years, the last a red 3door still driving well...but I am over the moon have now acquired a low mileage 360 5door with a just minted F-reg plate-- the owner had had a personal number plate. I am very impressed with the site and can say in equal measure that I agree with everyone how great these cars are and that I have got spirited by what I have read. I am over 50 and have just spent the air fare I had saved to visit my son in Taiwan on the new car.
Hi Mick, welcome again , I am pleased you are so happy with the car, where in Milton Keynes are you . I live on Shenley Brook End and you may well have seen my grey 340 redline around the city . I am glad I have been relegated to being the third oldest member as far as I know and hope you can make an appearance at our M.K. meeting in April, you will be very welcome. best regards Mick
Thanks for all your replies I would like to join the meet at Easter (Mick - I don't know what a redline 340 is I always thought it would have such a line stuck on the edge along the doors and wings?) I live on Netherfield and would be prepared to meet if wanted non MK/Bucksers at the city gates (first encountered roundabout rather) on the day. Once again everything seems to have come together with my new car Still can't believe it's true will fill in details soon on it soon esp when I am clearer what to do with my other 300 red G-reg w. spoiler and I managed to snap off the aerial when covering the car on a frosty night- pushed it too hard /no oil on the pivot so it bust the casting..got a new one but it is a different thread for the aerial bit .
Hi Mick, yes your right the car dos have a redline down the side all be it a very thin one along with black graphics and a red insert in the bumper, the car itself is silver /grey. look forward to seeing you at the meeet if not before
Mick, I see you might be interested in the V3M Easter Meet. It'd be great to have you there! Please check the details in the Calendar section of the forum.
At last someone who admits to being older than me. I've had more than a little stick in the past for being the (alleged) eldest, though it is possible I wasn't. Welcome perhaps theres scope for a Veterans section.
