project 360

Post by kds19 » 14 Jan 2010 11:24 pm

right some of you will hate me but i dont care lol
now before the hate begins i would like to say i am a drifter but i dont buy volvos cos they are cheap and you can destroy them without caring . . . im NOT like that. i had a 1.4 340 for my first car/ drifter which i loved so i had to look after it to an extent to drive back and forth to my work but still give it abuse but sadly its gone now to someone else as not too long ago i bought Ronnies 360 glt.

yes it is a mk 2 (this is where the hate will probs start) and i am planning on drifting it. it wasnt my initial plan but i cant afford to insure 2 cars so i kept the 360. so now my project begins i dont have any decent pics atm so i will post up tomorrow.
but anyways whats been done so far is i have driven it for 2 weeks and its awesome!!!!!!!! no choke no lumpy running its just perfect for everyday driving
the diff is welded as of last saturday but im scared to skid it lol due to it not being lowered but i have a drift day coming up in feb/march so it may be quite a quick moving project

the plans for just now are;
lower 2" already have springs and blocks and it came with adjustable rear dampers so wind them a bit stiffer
find and fit a bucket seat (only getting stripped out on drift days)

and later on i hope to;
either fit a 2.3 N/A or fit a turbo to the b19
sort rusty bits (only cosmetic) and respray in stanard colour
respray and fit my nice wellers

sorry if this is too much to bear but dont worry im not a chav after a cheap thrill im 19 and have owned 3 300s now and i love them i get quite riled when people see its an old volvo and say its a "tramper" its by no means a tramper.
but anyhow keep looking ill keep updating as i do things and ill let you all know how im getting on with drifting and the car pics coming tomorrow 340pw
thanks for looking

Hey, it's your car, do what you like. (within reason, just keep all the bits to return to stock.)

I'd be more worried that Ronnie will come after you! sm50 :lol: :shock: :P

For the record, I prefer standard cars myself, with coffin-dodger belt drive of course. Although I think I'll have to start saving these early GLTs from murder, rape and pillage. :wink:

there is no way in hell that anyone will go within 2 feet of it with a rattle can lol and ill be keeping all bits as im not a fan of the the stripped out drift use only cars, tried it withthe 340 and hated it lol. it willbe getting regular abuse but looked after at the same time if that makes any sense lol

as promised i have pics of the seat in the car YAY!!!! :mrgreen: lol

looks good i think and its in new condition not bad for free lol sm4

for the runners i took the standard volvo one off the original seat and got 2 flat bars of metal and bolted them where the original seat would bolt on then held the subframe assembly with bars upto new seat and marked out the new holes. drilled holes and bolted it to new seat. really easy way to do it for people who dont have access to a welder takes a while but is worth it
you can kind of see what i mean
Image
i also bought a new 3 point securon harness in black for £27.50 off egay so that should be here later in the week :)

hoping to get the 2 odd wellers painted tomorrow and get it lowered next weekend
cheers

For christ's sake make sure the bolts are high tensile... B and Q's finest will *not* do!
