Re: Photos
Theres lots of reasons NOt to love them. like family members.
But like family members, its hard not to love em.
But if youre sensible, youd have one as a bit on the side. Not as your only love.
Thatd of course be suicide.
Ok, i think ive exhausted that euphamism now.

Something I wanted to test shooting at. Candle in an ice lantern, how cold can look so warm, it puzzles me.
Taken while lying on snow at -25C, not very cold, earlier today I did walk on -20C concrete floor, bare foot of course, trick is not to stop for too long

A quick Volvo meeting in the deep heart of Transylvania:

It was a quick local meeting so only a few people made it. No snow here
[there should be this time of the year!].

There are quite few Volvos, not so much 300 series, but they are not too common really, would be probably quite thin meet with only 300 series cars
I did shot this trough blinds and 3 window glasses, that creature is very jumpy, it flies away even if it sees me from 60m away.

In 100% size creature is too large to fit to my screen, however dark cloudy weather and shooting conditions made it look rather bad, had to use ISO 1600 and still got barely enough shutter speed, so it came out rather dark.

Yet one more bird flew over my nest:

Yep, pilot is looking to me, I think, well I had green clothes and I did point at him with a long tube
Original is 1891 pixels wide, this is scaled down version.
It was shot towards light, sun was setting down around 40-60 degrees left from that angle, I had less than 5 degrees of visibility, they came low and fast, quite difficult to get good shot in that ~1 second that I could follow them with eye.
I had no idea that those would be here today, just heard familiar noise closing in and grabbed my gear, run out in sandals without gloves and only light clothing, it did occur only bit later to me that there was -18C outside
Must be happy with shot even it did require some extensive work to make it even as good as it is there. Some positive EV would helped, it did not helped much that ISO was set to 800 either, bit grainy photo.
To give you idea of trouble shooting these shots here you can see how narrow angle my shooting window was

he probably got straight on the radio too.
'Blue leader to base, blue leader to base,
its -20 degrees, flying at 200ft and there seems to be a man in a clearing wearing sandals and underpants pointing a gun at me.
Coming round for a second pass.............................................. Oh its a camera. Disarming weapons and returning to base.'

Re: Photos
Abandoned railway is lot like some apocalyptic nuclear winter themed movie set, tuning colours down a bit and it would be perfect place to shoot some Indie low budget future world after disaster type of movie, like Mad Mac
I think those shots are all great.
Very surprised from those shots from Croatia, I had no idea it had ruins from Roman empire?

Re: Photos
Apparently, the Croats didn't arrive until the 7th Century. Prior to this the area now known as 'Croatia' was colonised by the Celts, the Greeks, and later the Romans.jtbo wrote: Very surprised from those shots from Croatia, I had no idea it had ruins from Roman empire?
