Quickly found there!
It's been on before about a month or so ago, thought it had sold for about £1.20, obviously not! Wonder what it'll go for this time!
Look good in white when clean, the engine bay looks seriously dirty for the 79k mileage however!

LOL!
Now, would you believe the responce I got when I even mentioned the fact that there was a white, 360 GLT, low mileage, in Oxfordshire on Ebay?
It's wasn't very welcoming, lets put it that way! Then when I mentioned the two 300's on the BOGOF offer on Ebay, well, I knew it was time to be quiet! My Dad suggested renting some land for them instead to calm Mum down!
Oh well, as the crashed black one hasn't gone yet, I haven't sold my spare red 360 GLT yet, and my Dad's 360 GLT limited saloon hasn't gone yet, I have absolutely no room at all, shame really! But when they have I think my Mum will want the driveway kept clear.
However, has anyone else heard the new proposals by the Government, possibly to be introduced as soon as 2007 with regards to scrap cars? From the brief information I heard, it will be illegal to break a car privately or yourself, and scrap yards will not exist as they do now, more like a dozen or less Government run yards throughout the country. So this means spare parts, panels etc would be non existent. (Maybe time for me to get some land, break up as many knackered 300's as possible to keep mine running in the future! LOL) Anyway, I should have more info soon, and I will post a thread with more details on how to oppose it by voting on a website or something to register your concern. It will affect us 300 owners badly, not to mention the classic cars still in existence, and the whole scrap yard and car breakers industry. I believe this is also the case in Germany, where it has already been introduced, anyone correct me if I'm wrong please!
Pete

what i believe is the case is that vehical manufacturers will become responsible for scrapping thier own cars.. and NOT the owners, in an effort to reduce dumped cars etc. i would imagine that if volvo were recycling volvos it may lead to a REDUCTION in part prices, as they could expertly split the cars, refurb the parts, and offer them for sale again..
incidentally ford have announced than from 2006 they will accept any ford group car of any age and scrap it for free (inc volvos, jags etc)

Yes, it is. It actually says so in the listing.
I have spoken to the owner at length.
On a brighter note, I saw a gorgoeus 340GLE Limited Edition today. It was the saloon, E reg in silver, and I swear it is perfect; not a mark inside or out. It looks like it rolled straight out of the Volvo showroom.
I hadn't a camera with me, but if it is there again I'll take some photos and let everyone look at it - totally yummy.

Hold on there.. I was just suggesting that the control device under the dashboard was for this fuel saving device as someone asked, but yes it does say in the listing..T340 wrote: Yes, it is. It actually says so in the listing.
Also, it's not necessarily the gearbox. When it was listed before Foggy asked the seller to describe the noise that the cars making - it seems that its more likely to be the torque tube than the gearbox itself.
However, yes.. it does look a bit of a mess. I'd probably suggest it as going for spares rather than anything. I'm also dubious about its 80k miles, either that or its had a very hard life!
Did the 340GLE Ltd Edition have leather too?

Hi all, have just posted the car on here, then found this thread on it ! I've had in on ebay before, but the buyer was in Scotland, and so wanted me to sort out a quote from my local garage to have it fixed, alas he was lucky to then spot a car locally, so I agreed to put the car back on ebay, it's genuine low milage, having been my 60 year old mum's almost from new. The garage have looked at it (for the scottish guy) and says somthing got in to the bearing cage and trashed it. I had another guy express an intrested, but he was very slow in responding to his emails, this held things up for a month, then he decided he didn't want it, due to the rear doors being rusted near the lower edge of the rear windows (not serious), I've hear this is a potential problem with the 300 series, is this true? Having seen all the lovely examples on here, mine dosn't look so shiny! but it is sound, and when I had it, I used it for longer journies as I had an electric van for the 'stop start' stuff, so the engine is probably in the best knick of any 360 still around! I'd like to see it go to a good home, but if I get any more time wasters I'll just dump it as I'm not too happy about some of the unjustified comments made about it/me that I've subsequently read on this forum, I don't want anything for it, But it's too nice to just chuck out, but if you want/need that engine, and it dosn't sell, let me know. My local breakers is only 500yards away, so if all else fails, I'll just take it around there, and let the forum know that it's 'in the breakers', lest you may need parts. Clive

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure your car will find a home here and it's nice to have the sellers point of view being expressed. Some of the comments above, I agree are unfair and based around various assumptions. I hope that you have not been offended.
Good luck,
Steve

Hi Clive, Welcome to the forum, as Steve says, nice to get the sellers opinion of the car etc and the correct information. I may be interested in taking the car off of your hands, however, as you may be able to tell, I have too many cars already and a unhappy Mum with no room on our driveway! Keep us posted as to the progress and before you think of taking it to the scrap yard please let us all know, as someone may rescue it at the last moment!

Okay,
Hugh, you are way out of order editing me- I was not offensive to anyone!
I go the lowdown on this car, owner's details, garage number, et al. from a mate, went along to look at it and drew my conclusions from that. Said mate has today issued a blanket email to myself and several others folowing a quote: "histrionic & accusatory" email from the owner.
If I'd known the owner was going to throw his toys out of the pram at a few choice, accurate comments, I wouldn't have bothered. Apologies to my mate for dropping him in it, and if he reads this: Sorry!
End of, period!

Hugh, and anyone else who's interested, I suggest you read the draft paper on this. What it actually suggests is that ALL cars over 8 years old should be scrapped, period!
It goes on to say that the average value of an 8 year old car is £400, and that this sum should be the basis for paying to an owner, with a downward sliding scale for cars up to 13 to 14 years old (the age when it suggests most cars are scrapped anyway).
