Mmmm, that should turn a few heads....

(Hopefully those of the passing traffic police who should be able to make a nightly mission of pulling the thing apart at the roadside with any luck)

This tirade against any modified 300 is getting a little long in the tooth, since there is already a thread discussing this in detail.

Pricey though considering it's just a 1.4 with a stripped interior and a couple of cheap modifications!

agreed. If your only contribution is going to be deliberate provocation and negativity, some folk may begin ignoring your posts. Which would be a shame.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone in favour of modding ever say anything against standard cars.
Guess some of us are a lot more tollerant than others.

Come on, there are nicely modified cars properly done which I've already conceded I don't have an issue with and there are cars which have been brutalised for want of a better expression. Where would you say this one falls?

If it's ok to post pictures of cars which to all extents and purposes have been wrecked why shouldn't it be ok for me to also state my opinion? I didn't realise the forum had suddenly been censored? :?

It would indeed be a shame to ignore me given that I'm so damned interesting and unbiased..

I think the sudden onslaught is just a bit uncomfortable to a few. You've got every right to voice your opinion, I think this is just a matter of a generation clash perhaps. That's right, I'm calling you old

I think also V3M has been a place for discussions but not really for outright disagreements. We don't want this place turning into RR now

Hmmm, its probably best I witheld my views then as any discussion where everybody holds the same opinion strikes me as somewhat tedious. Opposing viewpoints should be welcomed in any healthy debate and to suggest that we either put-up or shut-up strikes me as a rather strange way of doing things.

Still, to appease anyone I may have offended, I think the car in question is wonderful. The standard steel wheels look just right in the lowered arches and who would believe a hydraulic handbrake? I've always had a thing about stripped-out interiors, they always seem so warm and inviting, not to mention the accoustical improvement. And how cool is that purple tax disc? If the car was mine though I'd probably be fitting a side exit exhaust and painting the bodywork all over with matt black aerosols :D

This is only my opinion of course. Perish the thought that anyone should disagree with me....

I'm not old by the way. Well, not THAT old anyhow.. :?:

I not stiring up the modified versus non modified debate, but just from looking at the pictures why should that car in particular get pulled over, yeah it's a bit of a shed, but everything looks to be in order.

TBF guys (without turning this into another thread about the debate of modifying 300's) I say fair play to Ian for voicing his opinions, maybe no so much about the traffic police tearing into the car (although if he's seen skidding then the owner gets what they deserve and this is coming from a Drift boy lol)

I love my modifying and as many of you know will be doing so to my 1.4 which I know won't appeal to everyone but that's cool I think as long as negative criticism is constructive and non-abusive it's just as welcome as positive comments.

Anyway back on topic! I want his lowering stuffs! 3" rocks so hard! Can't wait to get mine lowered, especially on dishy 15's hehe! I agree on the carb though! Overkill!!!!

Peace! 340pw

I think most would agree that you're absolutely entitled to voice your opinions Ian :) The amount of posts in the "other topic" (maybe the mods should cut and paste this discussion over there?) also shows how much the V300 scene will always be talking about this.

I also think that car has been ruined, but cars like that pop up on UK Ebay all the time, and I feel you need to "choose the battles you fight". At the end of the day, it's only a "standard" 300, I personally get more worked up when MkII GLTs and MkIII GLT saloons get stripped and trampdrifted. Or early 343s. But ... even those are only metal and not worth losing sleep over ;-)

Tom, I sense bit lack of enthusiasm, certainly true enthusiasts should loose weeks amount of sleep from any wrecked 300?
