Bah tell me about it. My prop shattered last night, been spending a good part of 6 hours with a drill trying to get the seized bolt on the clamp off. No luck of course
Yeah I do, I'll probably get another soon as it's always good to have a spare. The splines look right to me but I've heard some horror stories that there's 2 different variations of spline numbers.
I have a feeling that variomatics have a different number of splines, but that could be utterly wrong. I'm not as familiar with some of the finer details of 340s as I am with 360s, to be honest...
splines are the same for the 340's but manual prop is longer than the cvt prop;
you can recognize a cvt prop also by the fact that it has no clamps and had a solid bushing for the splines instead of one that is divided in 3 for the clamp to work on it
ok, so after posting on here again i kinda got reminded, hey got some cars to finish. so i decided the suspension upgrade on the volvo might be a quick task.
Except the rear dampers. Seems to me they are to short. If you press the rear down and then release you can hear a "bang" from the dampers because the suspension can't fully expand. Got the dampers from Dai so they should fit the car I guess...maybe some mistake by me?
Couldn't manage to get the drive shafts off so mounting the loweringblocks was a bit more work.
Thats one stupid mistake by me! Of course it can't work the way I fucked it up! I had a look at Dai's guide before I went on to fit the blocks but somehow missed to check for the correct position.
Unless I'm missing something, that won't change the shock mounting position relative to the body by more than about 10mm, though.....how much is it out by?
I should also be able to gain 2 cm or so by fitting spacers at both ends of the damper. So if the correct mounting of the blocks is not enough, that should do the trick.
