loweringblocks don't get the body closer to the shock mounting point.
with the blocks you move the axle off the leafspring towards the body and the leafspring stays on the same place as the shock mounting plate
with double leafsprings; the suspension will initially be raised; because the stifness of the dual spring doesn't compress that much with the cars weight; this means the leafspring will be moved away from the body; and so the shock mounting plate. i had that problem and solved it by fabricating a lengthener for the shock
