As per usual with the media in this country because someone caught it on tape it's apparently new news. However this is at the top of the list of accidents on our motorways nowadays, generally with foreign trucks who can't see you as you pass them, they pull out clip your rear end and spin you to the front of their truck.

They did it on 5th Gear ages ago and they commented then that you can barely notice the car is there.

Funnily all the recent ones seem to be women drivers, maybe it's just a coincidence

Think theyd notice a 240!

it would lower the mpg of the truck at the very least!

I don't know about that coincidence, there are so many among of them that don't think at all when driving, probably even don't know what is a blind spot

Quite funny that trucker does not notice, in that case it was UK based company and as they heard about case they send driver home I did read.

I don't think that we have had here even single case like that.

4th gear had some bigger Alfa model, I think, some reason I felt when watching it that kid driving truck was not really telling the truth but giving a message, certainly truck felt that car, but certainly it is easy to get crushed anyway.

But why would anyone drive along a truck? I mean trucks are not allowed to go past 80kph or can trucks go faster in your country? Limit is probably higher on motorways than what trucks are allowed to go (here at least speed limiter is mandatory on trucks).

Trucks are allowed to do 60MPH on motorways, 70 for cars so its usual for people to do near to 65 at times if they are driving "carefully".

Oi, never seen such thread, oh, ahem, right closing then

Bit unfair to be honest, with your crowded roads you can drive faster than we can, especially trucks there can, our motorways can have 75Mph, but those are usually quite short sections and reducing in numbers, usually only 62Mph, trucks still only 50Mph and we hardly have any traffic here, but that is making kind of problems on other single carriageways when trucks are not allowed to go as fast. Also some time near future speedlimits are going probably down again for safety reasons or something shit like that.

The speed limit for trucks on the motorway in the UK is indeed 60 mph, but because of EU standardisation, all trucks are limited to 90km/h = 56mph.

(While I'm at it, if you are on a "60mph" single carriageway road in a car and stuck behind a lorry, it's because the lorry is only allowed to do 40mph on the same bit of road (and on the same bit of road a bus can do 50mph))

Ahh, but it's not fair that you have B-doubles: 60 tonne / 25.25m.

You should see our roads, 60 tons is bit much for these roads and it does show :?

Those damn things can't haul on hill, 15mph behind such on single carriageway and overtaking not possible, at downhill it goes 70mph so quite difficult to overtake when limit is 50mph and Gatso'ss everywhere

We have quite tight speeding policy these days, 2Mph over limit and you get a warning, 4Mph over limit and you get fined, so them drive often 50Mph on 62Mph road as 50Mph is highest allowed. Should be allowed to them go that 62Mph so there would be no blockages on roads, but people who decide these things don't even have a car here, can't except much from them.

Also here every law and rule is very tightly controlled, compared to Germany here it is very tight, but speeding is one that is guarded the most, that together with stupid vehicle limitations kills flow of the traffic.

Oh and if anyone ever comes to drive here, just remember that other cars are enemies, remember your rights and don't give up not even it does means crashing, that is how majority drives here, there is no any co-operation or traffic flow first policies, promised land of bureaucrats

This type is the most common on our roads:

More than half of traffic is by those big trucks, cars are smaller part, so it is either constant overtaking of those or settle to their speed, we don't have too much two lane carriageways here, most roads are like in first wood truck pic.
