Spiders

Post by jtbo » 21 May 2010 11:08 pm

So what do you think of spiders?

Right now I have been looking one rather large at our scale, which is settled near to ceiling and facing towards me front legs spread apart, I'm pretty convinced, that he is stalking, so must be careful not to fall asleep as I'm lying on my bed typing to laptop here.

Then one another rather large one came from behind the wooden wall surface, that is next to my bed, he was very determined to go one direction, but all of sudden he did stop when I did move and quickly run back to where he did came from, I'm convinced that he is now stalking from there.

Generally I think spiders do good things, but in practice I have slight form of arachnophobia, they are quite monstrous things, especially when looked trough macro zoom

Now some keep huge spiders as pets, but I could not, I kind of dislike that they are constantly crawling around where I can't see them.

So best to check out under blanket before getting to sleep, there might be unwanted visitors

Love spiders, I will usually let them be unless they are so huge they might keep me awake at night. In those cases I usually just pick them up and fling them into the garden :) I live near a nature reserve so we get some pretty massive ones.

shoot it, stap it, stomp it, squash it, bash it, punch it, crunch it, shoot it again and then burn it.

Our's are often something around 2cm from tip of leg to tip of leg, but these two now are 4-5cm from tips of legs. another one has been away now, but this another is still stalking, only minor position shift in several hours.

I try not to kill them, it is not their fault I have slight dislike of multilegged monsters, so usually I let them just be and do whatever they are doing, also they seem not to enter my personal space for some reason.

Almost all that I see here are colour of chocolate, I have seen few almost like fluorescent yellow/green, but finding what subpieces those are is nearly impossible, there are so many of them and databases are made quite c*ap to use, so I can't really find information of how they work, what they do and are any of them poisonous.

Those will suffer early death if they don't start to look food outside, imo, maybe I should toss them out, like I do butterflies that I find trapped into garage or birds that get into warehouse, but not out, sometimes quite bit of work with those

VND, that is what to do with mousemoles, I have caught over 40 of those so far, btw

I have mixed feelings, I go from not being able to stand them to just about tolerating them, pretty much at random.

Some of the ones on the island are easily the size of a 300 wheel (ok... maybe about 2" toe to toe, but still)

There is two spiders, some 1000km between them, it is funny how I can take photos from those, but not really like to share space with them, anyway I guess it is bit same with taking photos from tigers

I'm generally quite a peaceful and nature loving guy - but when it comes to BIG spiders, I kill those motherf*ckers as soon as look at them

Small ones, I don't mind at all.
