300's in North America
300's in North America
Hello All
The fact of the matter is I live in the states.
Please don't hold that against me.
A Volvo lover for many years and have owned many different models.
1982 244
1984 244
1983 242T
1988 760
1989 740T (current)
Figured this is probably the best place to ask this question....
I really want a 300 series. Does anyone know of anyone in North America that may have a 300 or has access to one.
I want to add it to my collection of european cars that were never brought or rare in the states. These american POS don't do it for me. My other is a 89 Peugeot 406 MI-16. (Why can't we import the good cars).
We don't even have a turbo Focus!
Realize that importing a 300 myself would be nearly impossible.
If anyone can give me some information, it would be greatly apprecieated.

there was 1 (!!) volvo 300 in canada somewhere, but as far as i am aware that may be it - they were never sold officially over there, so your only way to get one (or a 400 for that matter) would be to import one.

I would definately trade for a Mustang of the same year.
They are a dime a dozen here, but I guess we always want what we can't easily get.
If anyone needs something hard to get where you are. I am willing to help you out.
It really sucks Volvos have the stuffy family car reputation the have here.
If some of the 300 and 400 models were released here like all the Jap crap that was instead, we wouldn't have that problem. Now it is going to take years for us to catch up.
I remember seeing an article a few years back about the 480 being sent, but that never happened.

in N America
Someone posted something about a 360 in Guatemala, that's north of Panama.
There was one recently mentioned in peru.
So maybe some are about in mexico or some crazy place where they might have been imported second hand.
How about some of the dutch carribean islands? The 340 & 360 were made in Netherlands, dunno if that made them more likley to go to Netherlands islands. They'd surely have low mileage, but the salt air might make them a bit rusty.

You'll want a B200F model to meet smog regs! It'll be near-as-dammit the same as a B230F I guess.
I believe it costs about $1000 to ship a car accross the atlantic. I'd just do that.
cheers
