if yours is a MY86 340 with B14, it needs a renix with the 412A code
about the carbs; you can immediatly split them in 2 groups:
104 + 109 = for B14.4E engine
105 + 110 = for B14.4S engine
difference between the two groups is that 105 and 110 have extra channels for the decelerating mechanism (including the membrame mounted near the fuel filter) and a connection for the EGR system.
difference inbetween the types is that the 104 and 105 will only work on an early B14.4E or S from modelyear 84 till untill modelyear 85, and the 109 and 110 are for the B14's from after 1986 this is due to a changed ignition curve in wich the carb is jetted for. if you look at the speclist you'll see that 104 + 105 have different jets and such than the 109 and 110 so randomly swapping them about isn't a good option. you can however swap the jets over from a 104 into a 109, or a 105 into a 110 and vice versa because the other channels in these 2 groups of carbs are the same..
it will definatly fit; but here comes the fun part...........
renault 5 super
i don't know for sure wich carb is used on that but there are 2 possibilities:
solex single barrel; in this case your engine will perform fine up till 2/3 of throttle; after that it starts producing black smoke out of the exhaust from unburned fuell as the renix for the single solex is designed to cope with the fuel from 1 barrell.....
weber DRT dual barrel
this is a completely different carb from the DIR that is used on the 300; in the 300 the differences inbetween the DIR models are enormous; let alone the differences between DIR and DRT
for example; the DRT came later as the DIR and was designed to be slightly more economic with fuel and the renix that belonged to it has the settings needed to keep the car from detonating.
the 300's B14 doesn't have that so if you hit certain rpm the engine could start detonating and running terrible and could eventually melt a piston.
my advice; search a 412A renix unit. these are quite commonly available and will at least give better economy than that 232 unit will, let alone the possibility of seveire engine damage.
