A propely sorted B19 will go to 8k but above 6800/6900 you ain't making more power just more racket.

went out skidding with my dad last night and got a bit over excited that i was skidding no problem when it was bone dry
so came upto a tight right hand corner flicked it and clutch kick of doom then fail!!!
it understeered, slid straight forward on opposite lock, mounted the curb ands got stopped by a wall  :(
the damage

luckily the wing needed replaced anyways so wasnt a big deal
but its kind of tidied up a bit now
removed the wing to get it beaten out a bit
Image
Image
Image
primed it then sprayed matt black over it just to protect it a bit more from the wetness
Image
then got the wing back on and kind of sorted the crack in the bumper

Repair of win. Sand down that bumper, bit of paint and it'll be good as new :)

Shame, but atleast it's better than being dented.

Get a top coat of any colour on that wing as primer is porous if the grey is primer that is?

Lucky the damage didn't extend to the valance or bonnet, or even the headlamp! wing, indicator and bumper and it'll be sorted. Sneeze in front our scenic and it suffers a broken bumper, bent bonnet and broken headlamp mount (or alternatively reverse into it at 2mph with a towbar fitted to a transit! )

well this weekend im picking up a nice wee 340 1.7 as my new daily (depending on condition)
if thats all good then im taking the 360 off the road for a bit to weld it all up nice, sort a lot of niggles and hopefully make it a weapon
but at the moment i have landy shocks sitting for the 360 and i really need to sort out the rear suspension as its wallowy as hell
i think the spring bushes a shagged so ill f*ck them off and replace with poly bad boys

but as for project daily im thinking
newly painted leos, black glt interior, 6 dial dash, just a nice looking sensible daily
and maybe the mk2 tailgate as i like it better than the mk3 item
but i doubt it will get lowered and defo no welded diffage or at least not right away :D

Re: project 360 UD; project daily has arrived!!!

Post by kds19 » 12 Sep 2010 09:41 pm

so on friday night my dad drove me down to dunblane to pick up the red 340 gl
and i drove it back, and it was awesome to drive not a problem for the whole 120 mile journey
the mot is due on the 17th so its just a case of getting it tidied up the exhaust also needs a bit of welding but thats not an issue
so i got a good look round it yesterday in the day light there is a couple wee bits of rust but nothing too bad
its done 115000 miles but everything feels great nice and tight on the road so im happy :D
so first was the throttle pedal was a tad stiff and it wasnt getting full throttle so now thats sorted and it pulls like a train now :D albeit a rather slow train lol
so this is the beast
Image
Image
it even has a rather good condition spoiler, well chuffed
i then sorted a couple of the wee rusty hole around the arches armed with kurust and body filler i achieved this
Image
Image
and there were a couple of bubbles on the tailgate which got the same treatment
Image
rather clean interior which is being replaced with the black glt trim as the 360 is remaining the skid beast :D
also took a random photo of the poor 360 dumped in the weeds
Image
which wasnt lonely as my dads old 940 turbo i next to it and the ford fwd pish i bought aswell lol god i feel so greedy :D
Image
ah well small update for you all
cheers
