hi fellow 300 owners thought id show you this little gem sorry for the complete lack of photos ill get more up tomorrow,
but anyhow ill give a brief of how i managed to get my hands on it
i got a fone call one day from my mate who said do u want a 2 liter volvo as always im always up for another volvo so i asked the price and number of the bloke selling and after i got in contact with the owner he told me he wanted.......wait for it............... £100 as the mot just ran out bargain in my eyes so off i went to folkstone to pick her up and apart from a clean and fix a few bits shes perfect its covered 134000 miles its got a few bad points but for £100 who cares

what ya think oh and also i found the service history in the glove box and to my amazment its even got a detailed history all the way up to 110000miles and to add to it it also went straight through the mot with flying colours

hi peps i have 2 sets of wheels in my lock up firstly a set of clio 172 5 spokes or a set of 14" minilight style rims to to be honest i want something wide and small

the only bit of rust ive found on the car


if someone can tel me more about these engines it would be great its the carb version





and also a few pictures of my long term project its was a 1700 non sunroof model its got no rust anywere what so ever just car park dents




as u can see i want to save as much weight as possible


and the current engine i havent finished yet but it may be getting moved on for something else at some point

im not sure yet as i have a million and one thing to do to it yet i want to put a proper gearbox and axel in it cage etc it was going to be done as a 16v but kinda lost interested and now want to go a bit mad on it so far it weighs 860kg but i know i can get lower than that and i have been offered a rover V8 engine so who knows

As for the Rover V8 errm.. why? The 16v will produce more power and weigh less

Being 1988/89 it will be a B200K with low compression(9.2:1). What do want to know about the engine?

Its a proper Volvo Engine and built to last, similar to all the other B2xx engine in 200/700/900s, turbo engines fit relatively well but still quite a job to get all the right parts. There are no common problems with the Engine that I can think off, this particular carb seems to be very reliable. Watch out for long term service requirements like fuel pipes, the short rubber joints at the back are a pain to change as they go up over the torque tube and above the tank.
