Reqiuired watching list.

Post by volvosneverdie » 16 Nov 2010 03:57 pm

Been off work and mostly spent all of my time watching cheesy/awesome/terrible retro car themed flicks.

Its all about the cars, baby. To Quote Al Pacino "Whadaya gat!??"

add more, the more obscure gems the better.

1) Manta Manta
2) Two Lane Blacktop
3) Thunder Road
4) Mad Max 2 (and 1 I suppose)
5) Vanishing Point
6) Death Proof
7) Gumball Rally
8 ) Cannonball Run
9) Gone in 60 Seconds (origonal)
10) The Driver

Good list so far,i haven't heard of some of those, Manta Manta for example.

I'd go with:
1, American Graffiti
2, The French Connection for the epic car chase.
3, Bullit
4, Smokey and The Bandit 1,2, or 3
5, Convoy has always been a favourite of mine
6, Dazed and Confused (not so much a car film but untold cool cars in it)
7, Grand Theft Auto
8, Duel
9, Super Van
10, Blues Brothers
89 3dr 340DL in Battleship grey with Ultralights and Williams power
Whats the matter with the car i'm driving can't you tell that it's out of style?

The Taxi films. Watching just the first one should do but if you are in the mood to endure lots of humor France-style (ie SHOUTING AND WAVING HANDS FRANTICALLY OMG!!!!1111) you could watch the three sequels as well. I've heard the American remake is a load of balls so don't bother with that.
