Sounds exactly the same as my donor was mate. Yeah it will hack the same PSi a HPT can.

Re: volvo 960 questions.
Sounds like a good choice... the B230FK will be the LPT engine, so it'll only be about 3.5/4psi - does mean that it'll have less strain on it throughout its life (so far
)
Pfft.. 10psi? Set it to 12...
Beware of dump valves on LH2.4 940's... they tend to be a bit fussy with them, ie. stalling issues etc. You'll find if you just run a cone filter, or junk the crap out of the standard airbox you'll hear a fairly audiable dump noise from the standard CBV:

I can second that. Running a cone gives a very similar audible note (and wastegate chatter) to running with the standard airbox unclipped.
I have also read similar about fitting a BOV, as you are dumping metred air. The AFM has already read it and decided how much is required for the correct combustion/ I hear you cna experience popping/flaming as a result of this
but also as said, stalling lol.
Definitley set it to 12. around 12/13 is the limit for the OEM management. Loads of these cars are running this level of boost and they will take it all day, within reeason.
I also thought the same about LPT's having an easier life. Mine was on

when I swapped it into the 360. Add maybe another 2/3K since and it is still rock solid and pulls like a train for only having 4psi max. I have no intentions of rebuilding it until it shows signs - or I grenade it! My donor also had FVSH up until 170K which was nice to see.
Here's a BOV fitted to a mates mates 940, with I am told no ill results

Fuck knows what it is. Some universal thing, but I am told teh 'spaceship' sounds good.
I have a twin piston Forge BOV to fit to mine. I am hoping for some lovely turbo blade damaging recirc sound as well as venting a bit to atmos. We will see.
Get some pics up mate. Sounds like a good 'un!

Re: volvo 960 questions.
Should have the 13's, oil squirters and M90 'box mate. Yeah it will handle 12psi with no chips. Just keep an eye on the plugs to see if it's running lean. I think i read that, but would anyway TBH. Oh yeah, and make sure you don't strip the head when on with the plugs. The one under the servo is quite prone to this iirc. It's even tighter in the 360 too :/
I'd guess at one of the sensors being knackered. When messing about people sometimes let the hub hang off these, on any car ime. It's probably snapped a wire. Just sack it off. Is the MOT due? If not I wouldn't worry about it. You don't want it in the snow anyway!
I don't know about the screamer pipe or fitting an LSD. Shouldn't be too taxing though. Just weld it!
Feel free to ask as much as you like on here mate and we will assist where we can, but no-one knows more than the http://www.turbobricks.com guys when it comes to these cars/engines.
Nice name btw. You on PNG? [EDIT] I think I have asked you before.

Re: volvo 960 questions.
screamer pipe only goes with an external wastegate.
if the LH2.4 management has troubles with a conventional open dumpvalve, you should use a closed-loop dumpvalve instead.
