Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
Just want to say that these kits are superb. I had a couple of spare hours today so i got my volvo up on axle stands and replaced the gasket. The quality of the gasket and the bolts, washers and copper washers are superb. Very happy and was a superb service!
so WELL RECOMENDED!
Cheers!! Paul

Update on diff gasket service.
Well, another 50 kits have found (hopefully) good homes - steady requests over the last culminated in a couple of weeks ago:-
A order for 32 kits for various members of V3C (the Dutch 300 club) which I shipped this morning. (many thanks Jos360 for co-ordinating their group order).
This has just about cleaned me out of materials (you know how tight I keep stock as I only just break even) and a decision need to be made.
Do I keep going?. I have been supplying kits for a good few years and I suspect most needs have been fulfilled but I am very loath to stop production if orders are potentially still "out there".
I am quite happy to invest in (another 50's worth of) material but, whilst the costs are not a concern, I plainly do not want several hundred pounds worth of gasket, setscrews, cu washers sitting on a shelf for "years".
I am almost certain that I will simply carry on but I would appreciate the thoughts of V3M - you are afterall potential future customers (are you happy with the kit in the form it is / do I need to change anything etc.)
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
You know my thoughts having spoken to you yesterday mate. This is a service item that is green book referenced for every 4 years I think?
It's a service item, therefore we need them. I'd strongly urge you to get involved with the VOC or FOTV3 however, with all these remanufauctured parts we need something/one to co-ordinate effects (for the sake of the "forums" I wonder if this needs someone from each country's owners club even)
There is no point us all putting in the same work. Robert, Yourself, me loads of others etc have all been making parts be it for the greater good or just ourselves. A multi-country multi-club organisational effort I believe is required, financial backing to allow it to occur would be a nicety.

Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
I am pretty sure another order of the same quantity will follow within a couple weeks. Maybe a little less, maybe a little more. Would you be able to supply these on demand?
Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
My mind is made up - I will source the materials for another batch.
I will let everybody know when I have stock.

Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
Most people don't think about the amount of time that goes into something like this. I'm sure anyone who has looked at sourcing parts will know that Mac is selling these at a price we couldn't buy the raw materials for. I also know full well that Mac doesn't magic the materials out of thin air, so work out what is going on to get that price.
Now remember on top of that the fact Mac doesn't own a 300 and you'll be starting to realise roughly what sort of personality you have.
Thanks Mac.

Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
To keep you all in touch.
I have ordered (and am currently awaiting) new stocks of setscrews, cu sealing washers, and gasket material.
My gasket sheet supplier has pulled out of the "small order" market to concentrate on their core business of supply in industrial quantities. They are however quite willing to continue to service my needs (as a long term customer) but have asked me to accept a possible small delay until they can "fit me in" - so far I have been getting 2005 prices so I suspect I am facing a increase this time. We do though have continuity of supply.
The set screws has risen but by very little. The copper washers have shot up!
The protective envelopes have also risen in price (and are actually getting harder to source).
It looks like it will be a couple of weeks before I can start wearing my fingers out again but as soon as I have everything on the shelf I will be able to re-asses the kit cost (I think it will need to go up a little but I absolutely will keep it as low as I can).
Jos360 - I will certainly be able to fulfill a second order - given the time to physically produce them (they are individually hand cut).
As soon as I have further info I will "report back"
All the best everybody - Mac.

Re: Gaskets (diff.cover and others)
Ok , it's update time.
Kits are back in production and ready to ship.
Had "fun" this time as my sheet supplier has pulled out of the "small" market but has agreed to continue to meet my needs - but "when they can fit me in" and with an increase in costs. However after much whining I have got them to supply me a 5m roll at not a great deal more than I was paying for X50 A4 sheets. A LOT more work but I can produce a good many more gaskets (much more economical cutting pattern) which has kept the individual gasket cost down.
It's been getting harder and harder to source the card envelopes (up to recently they were £1.85 each or £1.60 each (in tens). Having badgered the manufacturers they have passed me on to a trade only supplier with whom I have got the price down to considerably less than the 2005 price (which was £1.00) BUT for boxes of X100 only.
The s/s setscrews and washers have suprisingly changed very little, and the cu washers vary with the price of copper (way up at present).
With the savings made above offsetting the increases I'm happy to keep the kit price the same at present - so £10.00 delivered to a UK address it stays.
(I'll have to look again if there are any major changes in postage costs however).
