Once I've had a year or so on the road to get all used to it and shit, I'm going to have to get a valver in mine!!
The main reason just to annoy people ha!

EPIC! Its insane how quick it is. I thought, "huh, this is pretty - OH SHIIIIITTT!!!" full throttle proper quick, just didnt expect it. The induction whistle on speedy's is awesome too, sounds like a turbo coming on song. Half throttle is pretty bloody quick n all.

Looks like it's all coming together nicely! Glad to see the parts from that scrapyard car being used to save/improve others! So far it's saved another 1.7 in Doncaster from the scrapyard by donating a front strut and the bellhousing/alternator bracket been used for your project (and I've had two bootlid struts for my Mk1).

If anyones needing a gearbox, prop, windscreen, bonnet, bootlid, rear axle/springs, wheels, windows or engine, the car's still there as far I know. Wings and doors a beyond repair though.

Theo, probably cost me around 700 all in, approximately.

Thanks for the comments guys, its now finished (YEAHH!!!). everything works really well, and as it should. Drove it home with only the downpipe on :? Fooking noisy. I dont have the means to custom fab a downpipe, so some sort of bodged baffle will have to do for now

Had a problem of it only starting once, then never again. Turned out id earthed the sump, not the block (doh!, theres a gasket between the two, numpty) swapped that and problem solved. Adam was a big help! got a vid of its first drie my mate took somewhere, I'll try n find it. In the mean time, I'm going to bed, I'm shattered!

Nice! You didn't rag it past my house did you? I heard some horrible exhaust noise

I was thinking that you could un-ravel your downpipe fabric, cut it somewhere along the middle and turn the part you cut off through 20 or 30 degrees downwards and then re-weld that bit in? It won't be pretty but it would work. Then that would be easy to fab something up for then, or you could just stick a motorbike can in there until you can afford a proper exhaust.

Thanks again guys. The zorst stuff is a problem, as I cant weld. If your free at some point speedy, wouldnt want to give me a hand would you?

Oh and note to self and anyone else, PVC tubing does NOT work for coolant routing. Im a silly boy for even thinkinng of using it (shakes head in embarrassment). All it does is melt. Guh, steel tubing, where are you?!
