steering lock

Post by brad360 »

I assume the 360GLT did originally have a steering lock. did it?

Mine doesn't work, which doesn't bother me much.

But I'm wondering....

does this mean it may have been forced and something is broken?

My steering wheel points to 2 o'clock when going straight ahead.

I get a bit of a wobble at 100km/h, not as bad since I had the wheels balanced, but still there a bit.

Could these be related to the possible past theft of the car?

Also, I can remove the key with the ignition turned on, I guess even with the engine running, I must try it....

Can anyone else do this?

sounds like something in the ignition has been broken at some point.. could have been forced or maybe just replaced badly

I thougt the 300 had steering lock too. None of the 3 volvo 300's i have had, had a working steering lock. My steering wheel points a little 2 o clock too when going straight. I had something to do with the lining of yours wheels.

I'm sure I've got a steering lock, but certain.

As for the wheel not pointing straight, could it not simply be a case of teh wheel not having been put on straight after having been removed? Theres a bolt in the middle under a cover, and if you loosen it I think you can adjust the wheel so it's correct.

There could be somthing else though, I'm no expert
