Cheers lad! Sounds the part.

Today i got the jacking points done, by the same guys who did my exhaust. Good price too. :D Ended up being a new plate welded to the floor on the interior side, and a second one on the underside side. Nice and strong. Got some underseal to go on tomorrow.

Welding Prep (bashing rust out)

While I waited I was doing revision, in between the pictures. Mmm engineering maths :?

And lastly a real clean Austin A35 that was being restored for motorsport use. Halfway through as far as I know. Very tasty.

Tomorrow I'm undersealing the jacking points, stopping the bloody coolant leak, and revising. Wahoo!

ha ha, nice one Mark!

Speedy, gimme the link anyway, want to see what reactions it got

Got more polybushes and the rear dampers on now, very cool. The shock's bushes were an absolute bugger to fit mind! MOT booked for Wednesday, don't see why it shouldn't fly through without a hitch.

Image

So wishbone, ARB, and rear shocks all done, mounted the shocks so the dial points towards the front of the car, makes it easy to adjust by just reaching behind the wheel. Last bushes to get are the radius arm ones. That'll come later. I'm yet to drive the car with the new rears on, as of course no MOT equates to "invalid" Insurance, but all will be revealed when I drive it to the MOT place! Absolute chaos at the mo too, moving house, MOT and exams, its all going on! :?

I'd love to get a spin in a car with these shocks all round, I reckon they'll be pretty impressive. I had spax adjustables on the rear of my 360 and even just that made a massive difference imo, even on the softest setting it was firmer, rode smoother and had less body roll

Awww man! :( Ah well, easy fixes, and cheap. free re-test too. Still trying to get the internet sorted on the house, so updates will be slow. New larger fuel filter is on, aaaand thats about it.

Gotta love house moving, MOT and exams all at once!

Ha ha, Its fantastic! Just wish I could sort out why all this coolant still disappears. Must be a leaky rad, and the coolant/water evaporates out of. I'll try some rad weld and see how we go.

Another thing I forgot to say (I think) is that I replaced the plastic pedal to clutch cable jobby to a metal one out of a 400 series (Thankyou Mr Magnumpi!), as the plastic one snapped. Honestly, plastic for a clutch cable end hook? Wa?! Anyway, the metal one should last a hell of a lot longer. Uber thanks go to speedy for driving me around. (sorry for the late plug lad  )

Got some larger tyres fitted to the 13 x 9s, so they look a lot better, not so much of a stupid stretch. Absolute bugger to fit though. They look good, fill the arch more too. I've also decided to go higher on the back, as it still is sitting a bit backwards, even with 3 inches of lowness at the front, a heavier engine, and large profile rear tyres. 27 year old leaf springs don't help either

Couple o pics too.

And a shot of my mates raised landy (+5") against my -3" volvo

How is your pipework hooked up at the back of the block?

Mine was fine when 1st installed, but i soon found it was loosing water. I eventually traced it to a small drip coming from one of the pipes behind the block. It was literally only a small drip, but that was enough for it to nigh on empty it's expansion tank after a longish journey.

Whats the matter with the car i'm driving can't you tell that it's out of style?

Leaking is fine now. It was leaking from the clio stat outlet that isn't used. Sorted now, so nothing coming out, no drips, and no moisture. No water in the engine or oil, as as the oil colour is fine.

Crap now I think about it, maybe thats linked to the idle problem. Hope no water is getting to the combustion chamber. :? Idles lumpy every now and then (random, not consistent), and I was driving to the MOT and as soon as I gave it some, it'd cough and splutter. I dunno though, as I've got a larger fuel filter on now, seemed to idle fine. When I've got some time on my hands I'll have a good sort out of all the niggles. Wish i could legally drive it to test stuff, bloody MOT.
