the back of a ~84 or ~85 340 dl? i'm arguing at the mo, that they badges were chrome, like all other cars, but steve recons they were black..

duvel's car doesnt count, cos a) he smells and b) its black, but i reconed it has been polished that way like i did to maisie..

I believe the badges on all 300's were chrome but it wears off easily.

Hmm... I argued that the bood badges on DL's were always black around the 84-85 period Before then they were all chrome, along with GLs having full chrome topped bumpers, before they changed to a small strip. I don't think they wear off that easily, although Hugh says they polish off

I reckon Duvel's DL Vario rear badges are supposed to be black, same as the front grille.. even though his grille badge is wrong

It's BLACK on mine and it was always BLACK.

Mk2 models where it's black around the windows and the roof (as the GLT model) have black badges... easy isn't it? On mine it's because it was a special series:

Yeah The GL badge on the grille was added some years ago, a very stupid idea... It will disappear...
