Oh my, long time no see on this forum..hello again I guess :3
Anyways, my new Volvo 343 DL -83 having a LITTLE bother problem. Its hard to get into D-mode for the CVT. Reverse go simply but the guy I got the car from said I might only tighten the wire/shaft whatever for it. If you put into D, cold or hot engine; it makes stupid noices like Ford cars do when they dont get reserve in. I might have to reserve a bit then violently move gearshaft while keep getting those noices randomly.
Clutch problems or just to fix wire/shaft? + Evententully electronic problems with clutch manager or whatever to call it..

Re: Hard to get in D (CVT)
so in R everything's fine?
then start it in N, go to P and then pull it to D in one single motion, if it does engage now then the shackle bush above the primary gearbox is worn out.
to get there you need to get the propshaft out of the way, undo the selector's bracket underneath the gear lever, another bracket (2 M6-bolts) near the gearbox prise-axle and the last bit, is the hardest if you take the beltcover away you can see the gearlever on top of the primary gearbox (slightly to the RH side), theres a holding pin that you need to pull off, when that out take the locker-bolt thingy out and the gearlever is free

Re: Hard to get in D (CVT)
yeah the nasty GHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNK noise
if first going to P and then to D doesn't work, the bush is very badly worn or possibly fallen out

yeah i don't have any idea how to say it
take a look here; it's exactly the same problem as you have right now, though i suspect that at your car the damage to the thing is even worse.
