Some engine queries

Post by Neal »

Hi everyone, i have a few questions regarding the engines in the volvo 340.

I understand that certain models ran with Renault engines, which ones were they?

The reason I ask is that I am carrying out a project on a renault car (F7P 1764cc 16v engine) and to do it i need to remove the power steering. However, the power steering pump bracket forms part of the alternator bracket.

As i understand it, the renault engined 340s did not have power steering, and therefore the alterntor bracket must be standalone?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Regards

Neal

thankyou jtbo for that information.

Am i right in thinking that the 1.7 is an F2N (renault designation) engine? ie 1721cc

The 1.4 must be a C-series engine i believe, i dont think i can use any parts from that engine.

Thanks again
