I wonder how it was at early days when surface was quite bit less smooth and wide that what it is today. Of course more coarse the surface, less effect there is from the rain, smooth tarmac makes it harder for tires to grip on wet.
Some are quite bit better at recovering from spin than others, some seem to have less skill to adapt into constantly changing situation as car spins, lot of different skill levels there, but probably all learned a lot at that day.
That one 360 took quite a hit to wall, there was quite bit of change in front corner shape, hopefully it is still repairable.
