Hey, i'm new here. And also spotted this!

Post by raguri »

Hi everyone!
My names Sam, and i'm new to the whole Volvo thing, and driving really (I'm still 16!). Reason i've decided to have a look here, is that i'm one of those people that must research each and every thing to an inch of its life before making a decision. I've been looking at the volvo 340/360 as a first car for a few reasons:
A) It's a volvo, so it wont break
B) It's a volvo, so if i hit the inevitable tree, i won't dissintergrate!
c) They're seriously cool.
So i guess that's my introduction i guess!

Also!

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but i've just found this whilst searching for a black glt and well, it needs to be saved by someone!

Hi mate and welcome.
I would have that at that money.
New tail gates are easy to fit.
Even cheaper if you have a spare
Cheers Mark.

Welcome in dude.

Thats been up for sale for 15 million years.

Its done at least 2 winters with the custom rear porthole.

Its probably up to its arches in field by now.

Hey

A 300 would make a good first car! they tend to be reasonably cheap to insure. Ye that glt looks weathered, but if your 16 you have a year to get it running. I am in south wales so maybe able to help with viewing.

Unfortunately i'm unable to buy it right now, if i could i would just for the drivetrain!
Thanks to a heart operation, had to get rid of my job and now have 1 and a half months jobless, hence why i'm researching into the cheapest way i can get into motoring! Plus if it's really been for sale that long, no chance. Would rather something i knew wouldn't fall apart on me! ;)

So i'm really here just to try and get some understanding on these cars before i jump in two feet first, and end up getting a lemon. Seen that with my brother, and didn't end well.

I know many will probably flame this, but i'll say it anyway. Personally, i think that if i am able to get a car such as a 340-360, i'd respect it MORE than a Saxo, or Corsa, as i know that if i step out of line it would happily rip my head off by pushing its backend out, instead of giving predictable understeer.
Plus i refuse to pay 6 times what the car is worth a year like most of the people i know do.

300 would make a great first car!

IMO understeer is scarier than oversteer
