VDO Gauge set

Post by Chris_C »

Anyone have any laying round? After a 4 clock set with rev counter, *if* anyone has a Smiths rev counter I'd almost be tempted for that too ;)

If you only have 6 gauge sets I'd probably tempted to sort something out too.

Would prefer non burnt out rev counter ground on the blue, but again, can live with it if it is.

Can swap parts or pictures of the Queen.

I have an (untested but probably working) 4 dial VDO set which I removed from a car I was helping to part out. Does a km tacho put you off? You can easily swap a mileometer over.

Cheers

I *think* I've sourced one thanks Tom, but will give you a shout if not! Km wouldn't bother me in the slightest for this ;) I keep getting tempted for a km swap anyway, all nav rally stuff is done in metric and having a car count 100m would be awesomely useful.

Actually, might be talking myself into it! Do you know how insane postage would be from yours?

Stuff from Germany is dirt cheap, especially when you put it up against the Royal Fail. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but I've never found it brutal.

This. Nothing to worry about at all, especially with a small and light item mate! I reckon no more than 15 quid (insured/tracked obv.)

Postage will probably be 18.90€:
http://www.hermespaketshop.de/paketever ... ernational
tracked and insured.

Untracked uninsured would be 8.90€:
http://www.dhl.de/en.html

but I sent a 6 dial dash to Australia once using that rate and remember it being pretty difficult keeping under the 2KG weight limit, the padding kept tipping it over 2Kgs.

I'm away in Holland for a long weekend as from tomorrow so I'll need a few days ...

Cheers

Hi Mark,

I just had a look at the advertising section on the V3C website, but there's nothing there ...

@Chris: here's a pic of the VDO clock set:
Image

I'll send you an email.

The "160kph" sticker is the usual warning sticker put on by the tyre companies when they swap the winter / summer tyres over. Usually, winter tyres have a lower "speed index" than summer ones. These days, the limit tends to be 190 kph ...

Cheers
