how many left

Post by Ride_on »

Got this site from volvoforums.org.uk

http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/combined/volvo_360

360:
251 licenced
231 sorned

340s are as common as muck with about 3000 left total ;)

I'm guessing when they say UK, they mean GB, as NI works on a different system.

How many left? (08 June 2011)

Then Ian Mac woke up about 3 weeks later and started a new thread on it  :
How Many Left? (27 June 2011)

Site is just a fancy version of the DfT released stats:
UK Vehicle Licensing Statistics (29 May 2011) (You were around for that one)

Yep, they mean the mainland GB DVLA stats, not including the NI DVTA or whatever they are calling themselves this week (DVA?).

If you go back to the 3rd link above, I posted an answer to a similar question posed by your good self:

Yep GB stats, however I've found "Table 1.9 Private and Light Goods vehicles licensed in NI by make and model: 2009" from the Annual 2009-2010 Northern Ireland Transport Statistics and they have a figure of 14 taxed for 340 / nothing for 360, but 507 grouped under "Volvo / other".
There is a newer set of transport stats for NI for 2010-2011. So I'll add an update:

"Table 1.9 Private and Light Goods vehicles licensed in NI by make and model: 2010 (number at 31 December)" from the Annual 2010-2011 Northern Ireland Transport Statistics and they have a figure of 9 taxed for 340 / nothing for 360, but 564 grouped under "Volvo / other". (Not forgetting also the 902 Miscellaneous cars compared to 955 the previous year.)

So did the 5 missing 340s get parked up or turned into new fridges? Where did the the extra 57 "other" Volvos come from?

Decided to do a wee table while I was at it:

I suppose for 2009 and 2010, "340" really means "300 series" as the lumped them all together from 1999-2008.

As I've said before, a friend of mine built the site and never expected it to get as big as it has. I imagine he'd always be keen for ideas etc or if new data is available. The guy is a car nutter like the rest of us :)
