Re: Sound proofing for bonnet - ideas
Here's some ideas:
MY82 - B14 - NONE
MY88 - D16 - THICK
B172 / B200 is fairly THIN stuff. You'll just have to imagine it at the moment until someone comes along with a big picture.
For some reason (probably part of those goodies you showed me Andy), Hell Driver's 360 comes to mind when thinking of that thin egg-crate foam stuff.

I think it was also partly insulation for those hard up scandanavian winters

that 1.6D is soooo dawm noisy that you want sound proofing on top of the bonnet too
there is also a lot of gain on the bulhead, depending on the trim your car has (L(none), DL, GL, GLS/E or GLT)

Thats right, the 360 has a foam egg-crate stuff on. I was lucky to find some original stuff to fix it. I expect the same or very similar stuff is available new today, maybe more durable now.macplaxton wrote: For some reason (probably part of those goodies you showed me Andy), Hell Driver's 360 comes to mind when thinking of that thin egg-crate foam stuff.

Yes, but the backing is well stuck on now due to age on the 'new' foam. Not sure it will come off, may be better to get new new stuff. Where is that photo from? I'll be looking to stick some on soon.
Edit: Ah, just clicked on it!

(other vendors are available, I was just Google Imaging around, and tend to get steered to .IE sites)
As you can see, I got to find some other sort of stuff for that dizzler - and lots of it. It's bloody everywhere!
