Im pretty new to the volvo thing and dont want to get off on the wrong foot by asking tons of stupid questions but am finding it hard to get any solid info on whats involved in fitting a the 2.3 turbo engine to a 2l 360
Im pretty sure getting it mounted wont be an issue but im just curious as to whether or not it will even bolt up to the 360 bellhousing?
What clutch and flywheel will i need?
Will i need the full loom and ecu from the 940?
Tbh any help what so ever would be appreciated

The LH flywheel, what exactly are they from? Ive seen the are needed from various threads but couldnt find any info to what they are from which led me to losin patience n askin a million questions on here
I can pick up a 940 for around 500 here so thats what im plannin! try n get the car running on the cut down loom before i take it out!
What clutch can i use with the lh flywheel? would the 360 one bolt up? cant imagine it lasting too long
As for the standard turbo, are there any bolt on upgrades? Im not askin for the unrealistic quest for easy power but th 940 iv my eye on has been sitting up for a while and has suspected turbo problems so if there is somethin better then id go for it rather than sourcing a standard one!
May be interested in the flywheel dude, what you after for it?
Standard 300 flywheels have a 22-2-22-2 trigger pattern, LH uses a more standard 60-2. The only problem is some of the big brick ones don't fit under the 360 bell housing, so you need the one that does (which is probably listed in the thread Speedy linked)
Haveing done the conversion im starting to think dont bother its to much hasstle lol, i got my fly wheel out of a 4 speed 740 (b200 ft with overdrive i think) forget what year. As for turbo upgrades dont bother the turbo that comes with the 940 is perfect for that engine and can make more than enough power. Clutch wise i used a mix of 940 and 360, ive never had any problems with the clutch (apart from snapping the clutch cable today) and its been given some shit as i use it for drifting. Have a look at my thread if you can make any sence of it lol
There loads of threads and information on here,
Tricky items;
Fuel feed - 360 injection tank best for inline pump
Clutch
RHS engine mount/turbo oil drain interference
Transplanting the LH2.4/EZK electrics can be tricky
Rear mounted dizzy can interfere with ventilation housing on old cars I think, can go distributorless though (<£100), or use 360 dizzy.
For road use the turbo does not need an upgrade, it will feed the engine up to 20psi, but the more boost you use the more it needs rest periods otherwise it will crack. Bigger turbos generally take the heat better.
I think 11psi should be fairly reliable and not need additional fueling arranegments. I'm hoping a 0-60 around 6s. 940 does 7.5s.
So basically ive got a 360glt, should hopefully be picking up a 940 soon enough and i think i may have a flywheel sorted!
Im going to have a proper read through all the threads on the topic i just havnt time right now
There is more than enough info on here to get me through the swap so i think its nearly time to tackle into it and deal with problems as they arise
as the title change suggests..
What N/A engine options have i with the 360? I know the renault engines with the 340s but do they bolt up to the 360 belhousing? Im quessin mounts n everythin will be different as opposed to using the 1.7 items with the 340s
Im just still not warmed to the turbo idea yet as i dont have any experience with turbos etc so im hoping there is another fairly straight forward option?!
I have twin45 webbers, facet and filter king and a megajolt set up here and after seeing the manifolds classicsweede has it seriously got me thinking
isnt there a b series engine which shares the same similarities to the turbo unit i was planning on using?
again sorry if the questions are a bit all over the place, i seem to have snippets of info but get stumped then when it comes to proper researching the idea
A B23 or B230 will bolt in. The webbers will sort out the fueling, either use 240 ignition or much better still mega jolt. Cam wise K cam are best easy to get hold of ones or H cam that is less common is teh best factory one. After market grinds are available. Then just a case of sort the exhaust out.
Are you sure on that Dai? Can megajolt do 22-2-22-2? I know MS can, but arn't the two completely different? I've no idea what the stock 200 management uses, but I'd be finding anything that MJ can read if you have one on the shelf already.
