Coilpack needed asap

Hi there, going to pick up a 340 tomoz but it needs a new coil pack to get it running sweet apparently. Hoping someone is/knows of a 340 being broken? Any help greatly appreciated, really dont want to bring the car home on a lorry lol . Many thanks, kris

Which 300? The coil packs (Renix units) are specific to the car model. See here

Cheers for that buddy but im not sure which number it is im afraid lol, have not yet seen the car...All I know is it is A uk spec 1987 volvo 340 5 door. On a side note Would a dodgey coil pack cause the engine to miss occassionaly and cut out? Only randomly though.

Very unlikely, the Renix's are bullet proof. A dodgy crank position sensor would, which are common to all cars (they have different part numbers as the lead lengths differ) but it's much more likely to be an air leak somewhere.

FWIW, an 87 340 will be a 1.4 or 1.7, so want a 412 or 415. It's worth checking the car still has the correct one when you get it if someone has been fiddling.

Cheers bud, really appreciate your input. I guess all I can do is keep an open mind and check everything as thoroughly as possible. Just not to keen on driving a spluttery car 70 odd miles lol
