I saw some pics of your 340 at the Anglesey drift practise day on Facebook, had a couple of other friends that went (predictably in 200SX's) and had to admire the practical drifting with a roofrack :D

Cheers guys! Videos should be up soon, I've just got to find the time to shorten them, as there's a fair bit of waiting in between runs.

Iv'e seen a few pics around FB Steve, I couldn't be bothered to take the roof rack off and back on again in the weather! Besides as VND said on FB, it gives perfect 50/50 weight distribution!

Don't blame you! From what I gather it looked like a VERY wet weekend!

Yeah the weather was pretty crappy, managed to stay moderately dry though! Easy I guess as I was driving for a while! Other tracks were pretty quick, I got on the west track for a lil bit, but spun a few times and got told to go back on the hairpin. A little miffed as I had the hairpin nailed, and my mates were spinning on the west track and just kept going. It was alright in the end though, as I was the only person on the hairpin, so loads of track time. Just wish I could have transitioned corners etc. Oh well.

Some pics have started turning up of the day . . .

All in was a great day. Unfortunately the prop has just given in, I'm glad it managed to do a whole day get me back from Wales and then pulling out of my garage a few days later, fail. Still waiting to see whether I can borrow an output shaft off Theo or someone else so I can finish converting the prop. I did trial fit it after removing the old one, and it seems like it could work ok.

Bar that I've got ANOTHER to do list, minor tid bits and a rev limiter. The influx of Omex limiters has made me want one too, especially as they seem to be a lot softer than the F7R's ECU one, which when hit feels like it's trying to escape the mounts! I'll have to wait until I've got more time and money though!

I'll be doing more door card work tomorrow in between uni work, so they should be ready (possibly) for moulding next week. The wings a nearly ready too.

The weekend just gone I spent tidying bits up, like engine bay wiring and the strut tops. Wiring wise it was basically just getting rid of the blue crimp spade connectors *shudder* and make it look a bit neater. No pics of the wiring, as it's still not tidy enough, and, well, its wire. Strut tops came up nice too, much neater.

Image

got ANOTHER new sticker
Image

Up he went
Image

Drop the strut down
Image

Trimmed and re-fitted. Much neater!
Image

got a back rack for the roof rack so I can legally transport a bike without blocking the number plate and rear lights!
Image

and how the front looks now with blacked reflector surrounds, AA badge and silver bonnet. I reckon it looks a lot tidier!!
Image

The rex prop is on hold again, as I stuffed up not trial fitting it first and found that the large flange I made fouls the gear linkage. Fail. Easily solved though. I need to get the output shaft off theo so I can true up the spline flanges too. That's all for now until April I guess when I have time to finish wing and door card moulds and other long jobs.

How come your f7r has a distributor and not a cool pack ? Thought they all came with coil packs in the megane ?

Megane F7R is coilpack, Williams F7R is dizzy.

I can't remember if Jons is the same as mine or not, but you can do some swapping of blocks and heads etc. Mine has a Megane block and Clio head.

Had a little more time on the car now I've managed to find my mojo doing my dissertation. Had a bit of a miss-fire/ignition problem on my way back from worcester, random miss-firing that would come and go, and got progressively got worse. Initially thought it was ICV, then a slipped conti fuse (the later corrected seemed to solve the problem). He then started doing it again, and I found something was affecting the TPS. I found the loom had rubbed through slightly, shorting on the TPS. With that clear he's running sweet again.

After that, driving home from work the exhaust fell off it's hangers. Perished rubber mounts had split. I'm thinking of using old bicycle chain to see if that works. Should be a fair bit stronger regardless!

I've also while the exhaust is off to re-do the heat wrap. Now black and looks a lot neater.

From this . . .

To this, much better.

Also mate a rad gap cover/slam panel jobby out of CF

and wacked another sticker on it

Also bought a purple anodised tow hook for the rear, which I'm making an adaptor plate for. I'm a sucker for purple anodised ali.
