Rear gearbox/diff mounts SOLVED 340

Post by driftking89 » 23 Jul 2013 04:59 pm

Hi there as some of you where aware i had slight issue getting hold of the rear mounts for a 340 i Have recently solved this problem by going to a company called "robush" they are based in grundisburgh near woodbridge in suffolk

They are not exactly the same as the originals but however much better in the design they are stronger and seem more up to the job the larger ones to the rear you will have to use a m12 as originals are a m10 so slightly bigger bolts problem solved in all with a little bit of discount for all four around £100 including tax mans contribution so if anyone needs some i should be able to help solve the problem :340:

360 ones are completely different (only 2), plus there is the aluminium bracket that corrodes.

Yes Robush carry a huge range of isolation mountings - in the past I've looked at the range they do for suspending equipment like commercial air con units (where the weight is likely to be similar to a transmission unit).

One note of caution - do ensure that the final "hanging level" of the g/box/diff is exactly the same as OE. The propshaft alignment MUST be maintained exactly!. Any induced angles on the prop couplings will rapidly cause failure of the rubber inserts. (even worn engine mounts will do this). Wear, and any separation in the rubber joints will introduce vibration and can easily cause stress failure of the bell housing/clutch shaft casing.

Keep up the good work!
