Would you change the piston? I don't know how thick is the buttom. The scratches are at most 3mm.
In my opinion I dont change it and put a new cylinder head...
What do you mean?

Best regards

I would just clean up the marks a little and fix the head.

Not ideal but I don't think it is worth changing the piston

What would happen in the worst case, when the buttom breaks?

I very mush* doubt that would have damaged the conrod, bearings nor shells. Keep the block+piston if it's under 200k and reasonably cared for. Are the cylinder walls unscathed??

the cylinderwalls are ok. only the pistonbuttom is damaged. I have another cylinderhead to change.

But I think if I must change the piston it is not worth it.

The piston should be ok. I have seen some with worse damage that have lived on.

I will test the thickness of the pistonbuttom by piercing an old piston I have found.
Then I put the cylinderhead and hope that the engine will run for 200k

Thanks for your posts!
