I would start by fitting the exhaust and air intake pipe.

My Volvo 360 just won't rev up smoothly. I don't know why!!!! I have installed a B230F. I have bought a new set of Bosch WR7DC plugs and have fitted them. I got the engine to rev just a few times. I have also changed the HT leads and the fuel pump.

You have not stated what you have checked, other than spark plugs and fuel pump, and you have a custome setup, you need to give more information. Have you checked for air leaks, is the fuel system suited to the engine? What car is the B230F from? Did it have carbs?

the engine come out of a :Volvo 240" type 1886 wagon the engine now it just say b230 dont know if its a b230f r b230e only the bottom half of the b230 block i place on my b200e head alone with the oil pump ,oil pan and wire loom. i check for air leaks there is "no air leaks" that i can see or ear .. some times when u rev it back fire out the in take and when it does rev it backs out the extake >>

Could it be possible LE can't handle the increased bore size... Or am I miles off.

OK so we now know that its a 360 GLT with a b230 bottom end so if everything is right it will run no problems.

First 2 things to check, are the HT leads in the correct order (plug leads) and is there any damage to the cap or rotor arm?
If that is all ok then most likely thing is that the timing belt is out by a tooth or two.

If it worked ok initially, did the belt slip because it was not correctly tensioned?

The GLT fuel system should be fine with the B230.

What about piston suitability? Compression ration, ignition advance? Are the pistons flat on top, are they the same height as the original? You might need to retard the ignition, which might be possible on some renix units.
