I would say must be 12.9 grade. I'm sure the 10.9 would work but how would you feel if the bolts snapped and destroyed your nice new diff?

Most bolts 30mm and under are fully threaded, normally only bolts 35mm and over have a shank so you might be best with longer bolts and cut them down

perkabrod wrote:Yes that type of bolt would be great. It was a lot more difficult than I thought to google specific bolts... maybe the best thing to do is like you seem to have been doing, namely, finding a bolt that's used in a car that uses M12, 1.5 pitch quality 12.9 and just hope they are longer than 30 mm.

Gonna be looking.

Also FREJ, I dropped the distancer into the crown wheel but some force was needed to push it so I didn't want it to get stuck. Just wondering in case yours fitted loosely enough to have it fall out if you held the crown wheel upside down?

The distancers' thickness looks good in your photos... Hope to be able to solve this so that I can run torsen diff this summer :360:
Good work with searching for bolts!

The distancer of my Torsen have been dropped successfully into one crown wheel as showed on this pic.
But in another crown wheel it didn't fit. So it is to tight specs on the Torsen part I believe. But nothing that a lathe can´t solve easily though.

miniswift, what is the ratio, that this torsen differential can transfer momentum with? Is that known? Just curious!

I would be interested in some specs too :D

Anyway, in case any future diff would come in 1.5 thread pitch you can follow progress here, we've got bolts now that hopefully will do the job

I haven't fitted mine yet but just got hold of a gearbox+diff so hopefully soon I will install it.

Just curious, do you know if the ones you have now have correct pitch (1.25) and if drive flange possibly fit better?
I sorted some 1.5 pitch 12.9 quality bolts btw.

By all means, you can.
You have to give me your address so that I can get a shipping quote.

Let me know what you want to do.
