Nolan's 340 pick up D-project (F7P conversion)

Post by Nolan » 25 May 2015 10:58 am

So i need to find a speed sensor before, i haven't seen this anywhere.
And the 3 wires are connected on the plug under the vss?

I've found this, maybe it's the same connection to do?

That one would work! But there are a couple of members that have done this conversion, and probably know more about this. I hope they can chime in on your question.

ok, you think i can buy this one and get the vss? But there are no wires as in your picture
I can't see this conversion anywhere, maybe in case of my access...

You have to make the wires yourself. I'm not sure if it's needed for a F7P conversion, because I've never done that. It was needed for my engine conversion. So you might want to wait for someone else to confirm that you need one before spending money.

I've already spent a lot since the engine is inside, and it's not finished, i have to finish the exhaust, brakes (relocate because of the air intake), bucket seats, roll cage, front coilovers and rear from Defender or else...
Fan should be ok, some wires (oil temp, level...) aren't connected.
I hope someone could help me with this vss!

I'm waiting a speedo withe the vss behind, i hope it will be easy to connect...

I've connected the Vss wires, but the engine always idles at 2500rpm, maybe i didn't have to connect the module wire to the "A"?

Red is +12v
Blue connected to the pink module wire
Yellow/green is ground

Am i right?

A is for the signal, however the +12v should be +5v! There are some resistors on the old cluster which you should use. It will work for a little while with +12v.

I doubt that is the problem, no vacuumleaks or a Sticky idle air motor?

It's possible that it's idle air motor, it's not centered:

And the signal is taken from the right pink wire (c) to "A" vss, am i ok?

There are 8 wires not connected, oil level/pressure, A6 injection speed info, b4 (oil level and temperature), water thermocontact bi function, injection control...

So i have to find a 5v resistor on the old cluster? I've tried some of them but no one gives me 5v...
And i only have 2 senders on the water box, which is from a Renault 19... Some of water wires aren't connected:

Don't know where are are connected these wires too...

Hi Nolan, i notice you relocate the brake master pump and cylinder to the front headlight area..i saw a P1800 place the brake pump at that area too..does it have any problem? i'm thinking of using 850 or 940 brake servo and master brake cylinder..cool project man..

Hi, I ve found Audi Tt hoses which have the good size, but I have to found m10x1 banjo to connect on the original cylinder
I actually finish it... no problem for the moment but modifications to do!

On the old cluster, you have to follow the + line, there will be 3 resistors nearby next to each other which have a direct connection to the + from the VSS. Take those out an run them in parallel. Make sure they al face the same direction as on the original cluster they came from.
