Hey man
there is a small cover on the gear change rod which you can remove and pop out a pin. The rest I can't remember, sorry.

The gear change link at the gearbox is fairly easy, just pull back the rubber, lift the spring split tube and slide it off and push out one of the pins. Can nearly be done with fingers but you probably need a small screw driver and pliers.

For the gear change lever, there are bolts at the top of the torque tube and go in from either side, put you hand up and you should be able to feel them and even see them. I think they are M6, 10mm heads

A friend came by to see the work progress. He's not familiar with 360. He knows the gearbox is on the rear. Well in the end he was under the car more than me, studying the gear box I guess. Half of the job done, including removing the rubber plug cover that protects the Allen key nut, two of them. Oh ye the drive shaft, I forgot to mention it, a bit stiff the nut 10mm previous owner change it to hexagonal nut, makes job easy. I Tied both of them, cloth hanger works..the steel type. Now job progress is halt as which nut should I remove first to lower down the gearbox. The nut that I am referring to is the brackets that holds the gearbox mounting. There are two of them. The nuts that holds the gearbox side or the nuts that holds the cross member. Hey ride on, thanks for tip. No photo this time.

You can remove the bolts from the diff or the bush, the bush bolts are secured at the top of the cross member with nuts but they are very difficult to access with tank in the way. I'd suggest removing the tank filler rubber at the tank and dropping the diff with the cross member attached. Remove the 4 bolts at the ends of the cross member.

Hello Zack, I did it a bit differently - I undid or cut-off the bolts holding the gear-box brackets to the sub-frame. I tried to do it by undoing the bracket bolts on the side of the gear box, but you can't move the gearbox back with the brackets left attached to the sub-frame. I lifted the gearbox over the rear-axle. Well, I didn't, but a trolley jack and a few ratchet-straps did all the heavy work. I had a trolley on castors which helped a lot too. All mad stuff.... year 7 of my blog, man.

I was suggesting yellow 2 (if you mean the pipe clamp) then yellow 1(there are 2 on each side). I'd also change the metal filler pipe to a plastic one otherwise you'll end up leaking fuel from rust holes, although looks OK at the moment.

If you go the red method, Red 1 will not undo without getting a spanner above and gadget arms :), easy enough to get replacements. Red 2 will unbolt from the diff and you can drop the diff below the dedion tube and pull it off (easier to say than do, but keep wiggling). Diff/gearbox and torque tube can be pulled off all at once if you disconnect the gear lever.

Also another piece of advice, if your aluminium brackets are still good I'd clean and paint them when they are off, even just a coat of primer will help prevent corrosion against the steel in the bush. Usually they are very corroded and wasted away. Currently replacements are unobtainium and very tricky to repair.

Careful where you're positioning your jack... the diff end plate cover has bent and sometimes this can make them leak differential oil

If you are pulling the gearbox off the propshaft you need the jack in the middle of the weight you need to balance. You can move it around but taking the full weight is not really feasible. It needs to come off straight, ie not trying to sag in the middle, the pressure needs to be off the joint.

One more thing, make sure you remove one of the propshaft clamp bolts completely, it won't come off otherwise.

If you are just pulling the diff off, its simpler but from memory I seem to avoid this, it may be a tighter fit as there are no clamps.

I haven't start removing removing bolts yet. I'm outstation for a few days. The gearbox is still like the current state. I'll update the progress later on.

Hello ride on, I just came home yesterday, today, I removed the clamp hose by sawing it of, then I removed the bolts that hold th cross member..it started to fell down bit by bit. Now both sides of the cross member is free, I should have removed the 4 allenkey bolts first right? Otherwise I can' pull th gear box out. Do you have the Allen key size? I'm sure it's more than 8mm. Thanks man.
