340 for 2017 Raid

Buenas, we had introduced ourselves in januari so I will skip that.

Last week did the Spain Classic Raid with our Daf 55 Marathon.

Although Dafne performed beyond, WAY beyond reasonable expectation, we will not put her through the grueling event next year.

That will be the turn on a 340 variomatic model we bought.

We will leave it bog standard apart from a K&N filter insert.
Other mods:
- shim under front springs
- bash plate
- suspension cross brace front and rear
- locking the diff.

From Barcelona to Sevilla 2500 kms. over dirt roads.
145 entered, 93 arrived, we 49th.







The 340 is as of yet bog standard.
Not sure what to do with carb/exhaust yet. Probably put straight through absorbtion boxes in the exhaust. We may put a DCOE on it or may leave it as is and just change the filter insert and put a cool air duct on the filter pan. We need grunt not howl.
The diff needs be locked. On the CVT not as straightforward as on the 5-speed.
