oh - and the car is under reparations - pics to follow when it will be ready.
genuine volvo parts - brand new (taillight, bumper, back panel) the insurance company will pay over 2000 euros !!!! because you can't find in here used parts.
gls = (in my opinion) gl, shiney. it appears to be a poverty-spec 360, with no extras (no alloys, no electric windows, no sunroof etc), but with a shiney bumper, grill and wheel trims. so gl shiney
its amazing they will pay 2000 euros. my car was written off in an accident that wasnt my fault and i'll only get £150 (€200ish).
If my memore is good for something, than I remember that I read something like that in the German "users manual".
Because my car is from a german volvo dealer.... bla-bla-bla
But the strange thing is there is also a GLS Special version. That would be double Special. But i see if i can find that dutch topic where all the types are explained.
- 360 GLT, 1989, Gray Metallic, 115.500 km, PAS, Electric Sunroof, Windows and Mirrors
I believe it actually came about when they launched the B19A engine in the 300 series. In order to denote the larger engine the car became the 343/5GLS. When the interior facelift came along in 1982 it coincided with the launch of the 760 range in which the middle digit no longer denoted no. of cylinders. Hence the descision was made to rebadge them 360's, but keeping the GLS.
In 1985(?) further trim levels were introduced so the base model became the GL, the 'luxury' (ie electric windows and a sunroof) model became the GLE.
The GLT was always reserved for the more powerful and better specced injected model.
