If so - how did you do it?
Cheers
Used a clutch limmy and powerlock -clutch type better for normal-fast rd stuff.
both

OK, so I've just had Yokohama C-Drives fitted all round (at just £43 a corner) - and she STILL wheel spins like a mother fucker
I need LSD, or a severe attitude adjustment

It will do - happens all the time on mine, especially in the wet. It's pretty funny to get the inner tyre smoking in the dry though
Yeah LSD has gota be high up on the lists for most people performance wise.

I take it all back - those C-drives are beautiful once run in a little. Gone are the squirming motions I used to get when flooring it through fast junctions - although she will still wheel spin if I want her to. I've never seen such a difference in handling through a change in tyres. Had Toyo Proxes on the back before, and the original front tyres (had 360 written on them!). All a little scubbed, probably just on the legal limit.
The Yoko's are in a different league

Yes if you weld the diff. Finding original is like finding needle in a haystack. And like said earlier in the topic aftermarket diff is expensive.
I don't want to boast or anything, but i have got one of the five? original lsd. I got it from Tero Huikko when i bought his car and he got it from jtbo. And i am sorry but it is not for sale. It is going in to my project car. But i know this for sure i can't wait to try that car on ice with that lsd

Having an original equipment LSD might not be such a great thing in a big power car - if it's anything like the ones for 2/7/900 series cars, they're not rated to take much power. 2/7/900 series LSDs were not supplied with turbo models, for example.
The problem is that the 300 series diff is usually small. We're still looking at various options, but it doesn't appear to be any of the really common ones.
cheers

i think best bet on this chaps is a sierra lsd which can be found for £100 .
of course your looking at machine work for the splines or new ones to get it to mate up with the volvo output shafts .

They have lockers....I'm refering to the R-Sport LSD, which was an expensive option for 240s and 740s.
That does sound like a likely option....2wd or 4wd...or are they the same? Perhaps BMW E30, or similar?
cheers

yeah , 2wd or 4wd , theyre the same .
BMW are rarer and getting scarcer/more costly .
At the likelihood of being flamed , the cheapest/easy option is traction control , not really possible on a carbed model .
Sooo , its looking like spending money 'proper' for a lsd

E30 one's tend to go for a lot of money as they were only fitted to the Sport as standard i think. Although they were options on the other models. Of course now all the drifters/track day boys want them for their 325s which means you'll pay at least £200 for one but probably more (a mate of mine paid £300 a couple of years ago).
However loads of Sierra came with LSDs as standard - the XR4i, XR4x4 and the Cossie, and you could pick up a whole XR4x4 for the same price as an E30 diff! Despite being in demand from kit car builders if you're lucky you'll still get a diff by itself for £50 because there's so many about.
Maybe this could be Adam's next project?

Depends what its for really, most factory diffs don't lock up that well so for drifting they're not worth having. Also all these models mentioned are old cars and they're all going to be worn out unless you find a low mileage one
