Nessy Repair Weekend Video
Well everyone, with thanks to Foggy for hosting it, here is the video from our weekend fixing 'Nessy' the 340 1.4, previously owned by Hugh, aka 5lab, but now James' aka FoggyJames.
http://www.foggyjames.co.uk/inbox/V3M_nessy.wmv Right click, save as.
As explained in another thread, the sound quality isn't great, or picture quality in places, as it has been compressed sooooo much in order to make it remotely reasonable in file size for downloading, now 38 Mb.
As I've said in the Nessy thread, it wasn't a simple task. I encountered lots of technical problems, for example one editing program was messing the sound up, the other was pants, the other was fine for editing, but saving as a movie file became a nightmare, so I've been forced to save it in three sections, then piece it back together in another program! So, please excuse these problems, and be gentle, it's the first video I've ever made! Plus I had some trouble getting it within the realms of being an acceptable download, started off as 3.7 Gb, then 488 Mb, the 113 Mb, but I've managed to compress it down to 38 Mb.
Enjoy.
Pete

Hello,
I use this http://www.virtualdub.org/ and this http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html
With those editing is rather easy and also image quality vs size is much better than with traditional codecs.

out of interest pete, what did you use?
I always have filesize issues on my pc (using adobe premier), on my mac it's far better, and if needs be i can export into imovie and make quicktimes that are REALLY small (like 5meg a minute) and still fairly usable, perfect for streaming.
udate: woo to you! good job done there! great choice of tunage!

I think it's a good suggestions really! I know Rupert and Ryan (I think it was them!) changed an exhaust at Gaydon on the first meet. So it'd make more use of the day and also increase the knowledge of some members. I know little items have been swapped before, and Hugh stripped half a car at the last meet, so we could make more of it!

I reckon it's a good idea sometimes, even if it's just getting someone who knows what they are talking about to point you in the right direction about a problem. It's not like there is going to be somewhere with a more likely answer

it wouldn't be a proper meet without some kind of vehicular repair.
(even if it is just filling up with fuel...........)
