I came close to buying a Mondeo

I needed a family car, cheap, fast, reliable, good driver - Mondeo ticked all the boxes. But I just couldn't bring myself to do it... So glad I didn't buy one, I would have loathed it.

I like my Mk2 GLT better than any other car I've ever owned

Now now, Hugh's Mondeo makes our 300s look like financial suicide, especially the non-bangernomics ones.

It was only on holiday up there...
...but that doesn't mean it isn't horribly rotten

Did I see you parked in Argyll Square, Oban, last week, forgot to note the number but spotted the car. Don't know if you spotted my 360GLT anywhere ????

Yes Kev that was me! Noticed a surprising number of folk checking my car out during my flying stop in Oban on the way South. Didn't see your GLT though.

I wouldn't mind moving to Oban some time in the next couple of years - if I can find a job there. Is that your home town? If so, what's it like living there?

What a small world it is chaps! Absolutely brilliant place Scotland, and Ronnie, some fantastic pictures, as someone else said, looks like publicity shots from the Volvo brochure. Super looking car too, the colour suits the Mk2 GLT well.

Oban's not a bad place to stay, plenty off outdor activities, and pubs to pursue indoor ones !
Only main drawback is the fact you have to travel approx. 100 miles to nearest city, Glasgow, Stirling, Inverness, etc if you want any specialist services, wheel blasting etc. still the scenery and the qiuteness makes up for it at times.
Don't see many 360's up here, I must have the only one for about 80 odd miles, even 340's are getting scarce !!
Glad you enjoyed your trip, if you are ever back up this way, give me a shout. !!

I grew up on Knoydart, so Oban seems pretty well connected to me
